1,000$ Set Up

How is this set up for playing house parties. I'd like to be playing DnB, dubstep, breaks, funk, and hard dnb. My budget is $1,000 and I'd be getting all of this used. From what I'm looking on craigslist, I should be able to get it all for $900 and use the $100 leftover on records.

Tables: Technics SL 1200 M3D x2
Mixer: Pioneer DJM 600

Is there anything else I need? Is the DJM 600 good to use with the technics? I have decent 5.1 computer speakers I will practice on.

I"m sure I will want to learn how to scratch in the future. Will that mixer be good for scratching? I'm not sure exactly how it works.

Thanks!

While advanced scratchers are able to use the DJM600 to scratch, it's not a recommended mixer for scratching. Vestax and Rane tend to be the recommended scratching mixers.

Probably because the crossfaders can be easily replaced (at least on the Vestax) by an InnoFader - which scratchers swear by.

How are the effects on those mixers? I hear really good things on the DJM 600 but I could find another mixer.

I really don't know how much I will end up scratching. It looks fun for the DJ but not really for the audience unless they understand turntablism or you are mixing hip/hop or funk. That opinion might not hold much truth.

For us Europeans that price would be a steal! I think it's still a pretty good deal in the U.S. as well though. I'd probably put in an offer on eBay.

The DJM 600 is an outdated flaming pile of crap. Why it goes for the prices people sell it at is beyond me.

Try to snag the techs for 400-500 and grab an Allen & Heath Xone:22 or an Ecler Nuo 2.0
